Paul Edward Pitts, 87, of Troy died at 7:23 a.m. June 17, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Union City.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at White-Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with burial to follow in Graves Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. William Mathenia will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at White-Mahon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, aLee Parker, Luke Parker, Ronnie Lyle, Harris Pitts, Jimmy Pitts and Michael Pitts.
He was born April 13, 1925, in Dyer County. His parents were the late Charlie Monroe and Condie Moody Pitts. He married Laverne Tanner Pitts on April 23, 1943. He was a heavy equipment operation and a member of Graves Chapel Church of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Vada and Tom Parker of Troy, Shelia Huey of Murray, Ky., Linda Ferrell of Newbern; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Wayne and Sandra Pitts of Troy, Dwight David Pitts of Murray; a sister, Betty Sue Moore of Hornbeak; and two stepsons, Jerry Pitts and Sam Hudson, both of Trimble.
He was preceded in death by a son, Hubert Earl Pitts; a grandson, David Lynn Pitts; and a brother, Norman Ray Pitts.
