Johnny Lynn Reeder, 65, of Collierville, formerly of Union City, died at 6:10 a.m. June 16, 2012, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home with burial to follow in East View Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Counce, Jimmy Adams, Yates Scribner, Sammy McCollum, Kurt Kleymeyer, Hayden Argo Jr., Jim Thorpe and David Reeder.
Honorary pallbearers will be retired state troopers from the Memphis District and retired members of the 913th National Guard unit.
He was born Oct. 18, 1946, in Obion County to Mary Laverne Smith Ward of Union City and the late James Edward “Ed” Reeder. He married Jean Neeley Reeder Aug. 20, 1971, was a retired state trooper with 30 years’ experience, was a Vietnam veteran having served as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps for two and a half years and was a member of the Tennessee National Guard for 26 years. He was a member of the American Association of State Troopers and the Fraternal Order of Police.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Johnna and Kurt Kleymeyer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jeanna and Hayden Argo Jr. of Collierville; four grandchildren, Emma and Alex Kleymeyer of Cincinnati, Hayden Christopher and Parks Hayes Argo of Collierville; a brother and his wife, David and Helen Reeder of Woodland Mills; and a niece, Leigh Ann Reeder of Nashville.
The family requests all memorials be sent to the Hometown Walk of Hope.
