Gloria Dean (Bishop) May, 75, of Union City, died June 6, 2012, at the Union City Manor Nursing Home.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Ed Cassetty officiated and burial followed in the Rutherford City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Poe, Jimmy Temple, Larry Speed, Hunter Reed, Justin Abbott and Ethan Wing.
Honorary pallbearers were Kolton May, Cameron May and Cody Reed.
She was born Feb. 6, 1937, in Chester County, the daughter of the late D.R. and Zula Mae Lewis. She married James Royce May on Oct. 24, 1956. He survives. She was a member of Community Church of Christ in Union City.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and her husband, Claudia and Ken Reed of Jackson; three sons and their wives, Rick and Sherry May of Chattanooga, Jim and Devona May of Paris and Wes and Brandy May of Spring Hill; nine brothers and sisters, Gerald Bishop of Marion, Ark., Genia McCann of Horn Lake, Miss., Ann Newman of Henderson, Imogene Naylor of Finger, Jerry Bishop and Dennis Bishop, both of Chandler, Ark., Ray Bishop and Larry Bishop, both of Henderson, Danny Bishop of Denmark; nine grandchildren, Ashley Reed of Greeneville, S.C., Allison Abbott of Anderson, S.C., Cody Reed of Hawaii, Shelby May of Chattanooga, Carley May of Paris, Hunter Reed of Jackson, Cameron May of Paris and Kolton May and Kolby May, both of Spring Hill.
The family requests memorials be made to the Tennessee Children’s Home, 170 Frank Latham Road, Pinson, TN 38366.
