Senior Olympics winners announced

The Northwest Tennessee Senior Olympics were held recently with several Obion Countians participating.
Local winners advance to the state games in their sport. The state games are scheduled for July 13-19 in Williamson County.
Anyone can participate in open sports, which include archery, 5K and 10K road races, cycling, fitness walk/powerwalk, racquetball, triple jump, pole vault, 50M dash and any sport not offered during district games. The deadline for open sports is June 22.
Local winners were:
Ron Bates — second place bowling singles, second place bowling doubles and second place bowling mixed doubles;
Diane Bell — first place bowling singles, first place bowling doubles and first place bowling mixed doubles;
Earl Bell — first place bowling singles, first place bowling doubles and first place bowling mixed doubles;
Larry Brousseau — first place shuffleboard doubles, first place 200 meters, first place 100 meters, first place one mile power walk and first place 50 meters;
Anna Burkeen — second place bowling singles, second place bowling doubles and second place bowling mixed doubles;
Bobby Chappell — second place bowling singles and first place bowling doubles;
Edward Davis — second place bowling singles and first place shuffleboard mixed doubles;
Brenda Dorian — first place bowling doubles;
Christine Ferrell — first place shuffleboard;
Barbara Gallimore — first place bowling singles and first place bowling doubles;
Rosa Garza — first place one mile power walk;
George Gibson — second place golf;
Glenda Glimer — first place bowling singles and first place bowling doubles;
Tim Grubbs — third place golf;
David Hamilton — first place shuffleboard and second place shuffleboard doubles;
David Hawks — first place golf;
Marilyn Hill — first place bowling singles, second place bowling doubles;
Thelma Howard — first place bowling doubles, third place shuffleboard, second place shuffleboard doubles and second place one-mile power walk;

Willie Huey — third place shuffleboard mixed doubles;
Virginia Humphreys  — third place shuffleboard mixed doubles;

Danny Jones — first place shuffleboard, second place shuffleboard doubles, second place shot put, second place discus, third place basketball free throw, first place 50 meters backstroke and first place 50 meters breaststroke;

James Mobbs — first place shuffleboard and third place shuffleboard mixed doubles;
Norma Mobbs — third place shuffleboard mixed doubles;
