Union City police are searching for a restaurant employee who disappeared earlier this week as they also continue to investigate the disappearance of money from the restaurant.
Michael Lynch, 22, identified as a closing manager at Wendy’s restaurant in Union City, is considered missing at this time, according to the Union City Police Department.
He is a white man who is 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and has a tattoo of a dragon on his right forearm.
He was last seen wearing a button-up dress-style white shirt with a checker design and an embroidered Wendy’s restaurant decal, navy pants and work-style boots. He was last seen driving a four-door 1989 Pontiac 6000, which is primer gray-colored and has Tennessee tag C93-79W.
The manager of Wendy’s restaurant at 1401 South First St. in Union City filed a report about 8 a.m. Tuesday in reference to missing money. During the investigation, police discovered that the closing manager, identified as Lynch, was also missing, according to police investigator Derrick O’Dell.
Last contact with Lynch apparently was a phone call made to his wife just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
“Since this last call, no contact has been made with or by Mr. Lynch,” O’Dell said.
Anyone who has information about Lynch’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Union City Police Department at 885-1515 or Crime Stoppers at 885-TIPS (885-8477). Published in The Messenger 5.31.12
