Gleason first graders

ALOHA STUDENTS – First-graders in Tara Hughes’ class at Gleason School donned their straw hats, leis and sunglasses to officially bid the school year goodbye, Hawaiian-style. Gleason students and their teacher were (back, form left) Hughes, Jack Blassingame, Kennedy Reagan, Erin Slaughter, Kaylee Tucker, Kiley Corbin, Sydney Stewart, (middle) Layne Fowler, Keely Spain, Ava Sawyers, Karsen Mathias, Kylan Borneman, (front) Cody Harris, Chasity Loweth, Hayle McDaniel, and Aaron Lawson. The class part was held Friday and school officially dismissed for the summer after a half-day Tuesday. Registration for the upcoming school year is Aug. 3. Classes are set to begin Aug. 8.
