Estelle Simrell Posted: Thursday, May 31, 2012 11:44 am The Messenger, May 31, 2012 Completed arrangements are being announced for Estelle Mary (Turner) Simrell, 92, of Union City, who died May 28, 2012, at Union City Manor Nursing Home. Private services are planned for today at Obion County Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Robert Ponticello officiating and White-Ranson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Great-grandsons will be pallbearers and employees of Jiffy Steamer will be honorary pallbearers. The family requests that memorials be made to Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Tennessee, P.O. Box 868, Union City, TN 38281. Mrs. Simrell was born Aug. 21, 1919, in Haverty Grace, Md., daughter of the late Walter William and Ruth (McHale) Turner. She married John Bailey Simrell Nov. 15, 1941. He died Nov. 30, 2008. She had been actively involved for many years with Jiffy Steamer, the company her family set up when they moved to Fulton from Chicago in 1958. Mrs. Simrell was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Fulton. She is survived by two sons and her daughter-in-law, John William “Bill” and Linda (Thorpe) Simrell and Craig Allen Simrell, all of Union City; two granddaughters, Stephanie Sue (Simrell) Dodd and Lori Ann (Simrell) Vastbinder, both of Union City; two step-grandchildren, Deani (Joiner) Pahl of Columbus, Ga., and Clinton Thorpe Joiner of Union City; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Keith Clouse, Jordan Simrell Clouse, Seth Bailey Clouse, Maitland Estelle Wright and Bailey McHale Vastbinder; and three step-great-grandchildren, Ava Katheryne Pahl and Wesley Thorpe Pahl, both of Columbus, and Kayla Dodd of Union City.
