Baptist Memorial Hos-pital-Union City has named Barry “Skipper” Bondurant as administrator and chief executive officer, effective Monday.
Bondurant replaces Brad Parsons, who will become administrator and CEO for NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark., effective June 7.
Bondurant has served as administrator and CEO of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton in Covington since 2008. Bondurant previously served as assistant administrator at Baptist Union City from 2005 to 2008. He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee at Martin, a master’s degree in exercise and sports medicine from the University of Memphis and a master’s degree in business administration from Union University.
“It has been my pleasure to serve our community and our hospital as CEO of Baptist-Union City. As health care continues to change at a rapid pace, our community hospital is positioned to continue to meet the medical needs of Union City and northwest Tennessee. This community has been wonderful to me and my family and we will be forever grateful to the people and relationships we have in Union City,” said Parsons.
“I am excited about serving my hometown community and am honored to join the team at Baptist Union City,” said Bondurant, a native of South Fulton. “I am dedicated to continuing the standards in health care excellence currently in place at the hospital. I look forward to building and maintaining an open, collaborative relationship with the medical staff and the community to ensure Baptist Union City is the hospital of choice for quality, patient-centered health care.”
