Thelma Laverne Beasley, 81, of Obion, died early May 29, 2012, at her home.
A memorial will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Independent Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Southerland officiating.
Cryer Funeral Home in Obion has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beasley was born July 28, 1930, in Elbridge. She was the daughter of the late Iva Howard and Stella Handley Minnick. She was a longtime cafeteria employee at Reelfoot Rural Ministries and attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church.
Mrs. Beasley is survived by her daughter, Janet Azbell of Obion; four brothers, Bobby Minnick of Hornbeak, Johnny Minnick and Hershel Minnick, both of Obion, and Charles Minnick of Dyersburg; five sisters, Linda Davis and Mary Brown, both of Hornbeak, Wanda Lynch of Dyersburg, Sherrion Minnick of Lenox and Viola Bogan of Paragould, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her husband, John Phillip Beasley, who died Dec. 10, 2010. They were married Aug. 5, 1948, in Dyer County.
Mrs. Beasley was also preceded in death by six brothers, Calvin Minnick, Billy Minnick, Iva George Minnick, Robert Minnick, Troy Boswell and Buddy Boswell; and three sisters, Esther Hall, Violent Reynolds and Martha Lamb.
