| | The Memorial Day weekend started out with a powerful event Thursday on Legislative Plaza in Nashville, where Billy Vaughn Sr. (right) of Union City visited with Gov. Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam after a ceremony to honor seven Tennesseans killed in action. Vaughn’s grandson, fallen Navy SEAL Aaron Carson Vaughn, a native of Obion County, was among those remembered. Several members of the Vaughn family from Obion County were in attendance. Aaron Vaughn died Aug. 6, 2011, in Afghanistan. | | | | |
