Dorotha Bell Mitchell, 87, of Troy died 8:55 a.m. May 29, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. The Rev. William Matheny will officiate. Burial will follow in Triangle Cemetery at Troy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Matheny, Bobby Matheny, Shane Matheny, Austin Matheny, Corey Perry and Joseph Curl.
Ms. Mitchell was born April 2, 1925, in Obion County, daughter of the late Charles Lee and Nannie Bell (Davis) Nix. She was a retired inspector at the former Troy Manufacturing and was a member of the former Troy Church of God.
She is survived by four sisters, Hattie Matheny of Troy, Georgia Duren of Obion, Loretta Turner of Bald Knob, Ark., and Louise McMahan of Conway, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; her special friend, Martha Shannon of Troy; and her great-great-niece and great-great-nephew, who were her caregivers, Miranda Matheny and Garrett Matheny, both of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Hessie Johnson.
