|Trent Cary believes his 18-year-old son is very lucky to have survived having a truck roll over him at his rural Obion County home Saturday evening.
Tanner, the son of Trent and Robin Cary of Marshall Kirk Road, was working on a friend’s truck Saturday evening. The vehicle was parked on an incline and apparently slipped out of gear and rolled back over the young Cary, according to his father.
The truck rolled over Cary’s arm and “jerked his neck” as it dragged him a short distance, Trent Cary told The Messenger today.
The young Cary was originally transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City before being airlifted to Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
He suffered a bruised spine and torn ligaments, according to Trent Cary.
“We were very, very lucky,” he said. “He’s doing good now. He’s resting.”
The young Cary returned home Monday night and is recovering at his family’s home west of Union City. His father said today he is very grateful for all the calls and contacts they have received since the accident.
“We sure do appreciate all the prayers,” he said. “I’d just like to say thank you to everyone.”
Tanner Cary just recently graduated from Obion County Central High School. Published in The Messenger 5.29..12
