MUSEUM MEMORIES — Second-graders at Union City Elementary School were the last official admiring group to tour the Obion County Museum on Edwards Street in Union City. Kase Ross donned a white docent’s glove, borrowed from longtime board member and museum supporter Marti Doss, to inspect the famous and always-popular Indian who has overseen much of the museum’s own history. His classmates (from left) Khia German, Brandon Burney, Julissa Hurtado and Julianne Becton waited for their turn. The second-graders, who are in Mallorey Powers’ class, not only toured the museum, they also got a preview of Discovery Park of America, where the Indian will make his new home in the near future. Many of the exhibits which have proven popular at the museum will also be open for inspection when DPA opens its doors on the 50-acre site on Union City’s northwest side.
