Two Fulton County, Ky., residents were injured in a motorcycle crash in Graves County, Ky., Tuesday night, according to the Kentucky State Police.
The KSP responded just before 9 p.m. to the intersection of KY 303 (Cuba Road) and Waggoner Bottom Road in Graves County.
Preliminary investigation showed that a motorcycle operated by 47-year-old Lowell Walker was traveling north on KY 303 when, according to Walker, a deer entered his path. Walker told the KSP he slowed but was unable to avoid striking the deer.
Walker and his passenger, 50-year-old Dorothia Huddleston, were thrown from the bike and landed on the roadway.
Walker was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Ky., for a broken leg, while Ms. Huddleston was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Both of them were wearing protective headgear, according to the KSP.
The KSP was assisted at the scene by the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, Mayfield-Graves County EMS and Cuba Volunteer Fire Department. The investigation of the accident is ongoing.
