Diehl no longer
on Tornado staff

John Diehl, one of three new assistant football coaches hired at Union City High School, has resigned his teaching and coaching duties.
UCHS Principal/Athletic Director Wes Kennedy said Diehl cited “personal reasons” for his decision Tuesday.
Diehl has more than 30 years of teaching, coaching and administrative experience in both Florida and New York and was hired in January to teach history and be an assistant coach when Morgan Cruce accepted the head coaching job at Gibson County.
Ricke Mallory and Wade Maddox were the other recent additions to the UCHS faculty/staff.
Kennedy said he hoped to hire a replacement for Diehl in the coming weeks.
