RETIRED TEACHERS MEET — Obion County University of Tennessee Extension agent Benita Giffin (standing) recently appeared before the Obion County-Union City Retired Teachers Association to inform them of things which are available in her office. The association met at First Citizens National Bank in Troy, with Monya Sanders, Betty Whitesides and Ina Orsborne serving as hostesses. President Alice Fennel called the meeting to order with all saying the Pledge to the United States flag. Mary Dunavant read two thank-you cards from “Care” in South Fulton and Helping Hand in Union City, both of which received food from the organization. Maggie Vaughan gave an update on the legislative bills in Nashville and Mrs. Fennel gave a report on the meeting that was held in Jackson. A breakfast buffet was served by the hostesses.
