BREAKING NEWS: Union City Council doubles fire service call fee for unsubscribers

Union City council members decided Tuesday night to double the rural fire service fee for calls made outside the city limits to $1,000 if the homeowner has not paid the rural fire subscription fee.
Clearly upset by a recent decision by Obion County clerk Vollie Boehms to no longer accept the rural fire protection fee in her office, several council members suggested the possibility of Union City no longer responding outside its city limits.
