Troy native honored by ACT

American Central Transport has chosen David Storey, a native of Troy, as its 2011 Company Driver of the Year.
Storey was one of three winners recognized at an April 26 ceremony at ACT’s headquarters in Liberty, Mo. Company president Tom Kretsinger Jr. was on hand to present the awards.
Storey was awarded a new 2013 KW T680 to drive, earned the top pay of 45 cents per mile and was presented a commemorative jacket for being ACT’s 2011 Company Driver of the Year.
He is a six-year veteran with the company, led all company drivers with more than 120,000 miles and an average of 7.12 miles per gallon for 2011. He provided customers with 100 percent on-time service for the year and maintained a perfect safety record.
American Central Transport Inc. is a dry van truckload carrier serving major shippers throughout the eastern half of the United States.
Founded in 1926 as E.K. Motor Service, the company was later renamed after it was purchased by the Kretsinger family, which still runs it today. ACT has been frequently recognized for its quality and premium service, signified by its “Raising the Standard” motto.
