Shirley Jene (Ramey) Posey, 67, of Union City died May 11, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services were set for 11 a.m. today at Exchange Street Church of Christ, with Dan Huggins officiating. Burial was to follow in Salem Cemetery near Woodland Mills.
Pallbearers were to be Kenneth Cary, Justin Lawrence, Joseph Babb, Allen Posey, Johnny Posey and Mike Richards. Honorary pallbearers were to be C.L. Smith, Dwayne Posey, Wallace Covington, James Lawrence, Moncie Hall and Thomas Jackson.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Feb. 28, 1945, in Texas, daughter of the late William Archie Ramey and the late Sherry (Sailing) Ramey Meadows. She married James Flavil Posey Feb. 5, 1966. He survives. She was a hair stylist and was a member of Exchange Street Church of Christ, the Lioness Club and the United Tennis Association.
She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melony and Justin Lawrence of Kenton; her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Christy Posey of Union City; two sisters, Sherry Ann Smith of Union City and Debi Wyatt of Wasilla, Alaska; her brother and sister-in-law, Cliff Smith III and Lois Ann Smith of Texas; three grandchildren and their spouses, Alysha and Thomas Jackson of Union City, Amanda and Kerry White of Dyer and Stephanie Glisson of Kenton; and three nephews, Cliff Smith and Jed Smith, both of Texas, and Charlie Wyatt of Alaska.
