Three people were charged with various offenses after police responded to a noise complaint early Saturday at an apartment on West Gibbs Street in Union City.
Among those arrested at 3:29 a.m. Saturday were Audare Duron Lee, 19, of 824 Mosswood Drive, Union City, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence; Ricky Earl Davis, 37, of 1276 Poplar Grove Road, Halls, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; and Carlotta Ruth Terry, 47, of 163 Gumflat Road, Halls, charged with resisting a stop, halt or frisk, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police had responded to the West Gibbs Street address and made contact with the male resident of the apartment, where they were allowed entry. Police reported they immediately detected a “strong odor” of burning marijuana.
Officers reported they received consent to search a metal tin on a coffee table and found a small roach from a marijuana blunt located in the tin, along with blunt shavings. Police said they searched the male resident of the apartment and did not find anything, but they allegedly found a crack pipe in Davis’ sock when he was searched.
While Davis was being taken into custody, Ms. Terry allegedly became upset, telling police anything that what was found belonged to her and lunging at a police investigator, according to the report.
Police reported Lee also consented to a search and officers allegedly found a package of rolling papers in his pocket. Once outside, he allegedly dropped a small baggy of a substance believed to be marijuana in an alleged attempt to conceal it from officers, the report stated.
