The Senior Friends of Cobb’s Chapel United Methodist Church met in April at Autry’s Country Kitchen, where good food and fellowship were enjoyed.
Those who enjoyed the outing included Norval Cranford, who offered the blessing for the meal; Virginia Cranford; Mary Nichols, who provided the devotional; Ilar and Mattie Lou Moran; Thelma Calhoun; Bobby Calhoun; Virginia Smithson; Trixie Heidelberg; Junior and Betty Davis; Cy and Etta Harris; Diane Flippen; Anna Mae Muse; Maudie Byrd; Aaron Smith; Faye Howard; Clen Reavis; Mozelle Flippen; Jeanette Criswell; Nancy Rivers; Trudy Oaks; Leon McCullough; Evelyn Rudd; and Kay Fultz.
Special readings were presented by Mrs. Moran, and an Easter theme was carried out. The women attending wore Easter hats they had designed, with those worn by Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Byrd selected as the favorites.
Birthdays were celebrated by Mrs. Moran, Harris, Smith and Mrs. Flippen.
The group has been saddened by the death of one of its members, the Rev. Emma Lou Dickey. Sympathy was extended to her brother, the Rev. Jim Calhoun, and his family.
The group will meet Tuesday at Lakeview Dining Room at Reelfoot Lake at 11:30 a.m.
