Greenfield man charged with steroid possession

A Greenfield man is facing charges of possession of a Schedule III substance after an apparent window-tint violation led to the alleged discovery of steroids and needles in Martin Monday afternoon.
According to an incident report, 21-year-old Steven Alan Johnson of Greenfield was pulled over in the parking lot of Len Haven Motel that day for window tint that was apparently too dark.
The officer claimed Johnson seemed nervous during the stop and denied a consent to search the vehicle. A K-9 performed a free air sniff of the vehicle, according to the report and alerted to the driver’s open window. Johnson apparently admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle “at some point.”
After searching the vehicle, three vials of a liquid believed to be anabolic steroids, eight hypodermic needles and one syringe was allegedly uncovered.
Johnson was charged with Schedule III drug violations and unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities.
