Two juveniles were taken into custody for burglary Sunday after they allegedly broke into a business and tried to steal a bag of candy.
They have been released to their parents and juvenile court dates are pending.
Earnest Daniels reported he went to his business located at 202 Railroad St. and heard noises coming from the rear of the building. Apparently, two white males, ages 14 and 16, had forced open the rear door, entered the building and placed various candy items in a sack. Daniels estimated the candy was valued at $75.
The two males ran, but Daniels detained a white juvenile female who was outside the building. The girl told police she did not enter the building and had called her grandmother so she would not get into trouble.
The investigation showed she was telling the truth and she is cooperating with police in the case.
