Central rides win
to soccer tourney

Obion Central will enter the District 13A-AA soccer tournament on a high note after knocking off Jackson Christian School 3-2 on Thursday.
The Rebels got first-half goals from Victor Guerrero and Alex Terrell to take a 2-0 intermission advantage Thursday, before Eric Torres scored what would prove to be the winning goal in the second half.
Samuel Smith had six saves protecting the net for OC, which improved to 9-5-1 with the victory.

Devils again top
crosstown rival

South Fulton closed out its regular season baseball schedule on Thursday, beating Twin-Cities rival Fulton City for the third time this season, 8-5.
The sixth-seeded Red Devils (12-20) begin District 14A Tournament play at No. 3 Trenton today at 5 p.m.
Against the Bulldogs, South Fulton got two RBIs apiece from Kyle Clouse, Ryan Prince and Cody Tatum.
Zack Vaughn doubled twice for the Redmen, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit with eight unanswered runs.
Chance Hamlin (5-4) picked up the win with nine strikeouts over seven innings.

wins 3rd straight

The South Fulton soccer team will take a three-game win streak into tonight’s Senior Night after winning on the road at Trenton 3-1 Thursday.
Skylar Britt, Harrison Hawks and Easton Wolf all had goals for the Red Devils (5-7-2).
