STATUE UNVEILED — A formal dedication of the newly-installed Confederate soldier statue at the Parks Cemetery Ridge Confederate Memorial Plaza near Trimble was held recently to correspond with Confedrate History Month. SCV National Lt. Commander Kelly Barrows was the program speaker for this event, which was led by the Gen. Otho French Strahl Camp 176, Sons of Confederate Veterans. During the ceremony, Order of Confederate Rose members Elaine Neill (left) and Joanna Neill placed a wreath at the site. The Sons of Confederate Veterans is the nation’s largest Southern heritage, history and honor organization open to all male descendants of Confederate soldiers who served honorably in the War for Southern Independence.
