Raymond Douglas “Doug” Jackson, 65, of South Fulton died 9:40 p.m. May 2, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Ron Cox will officiate and burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Jackson, Travis Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Wes Jackson, Ches Jackson and Gary Owens.
He was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Mertzon, Texas, son of the late Joe and Eula Victoria (Butler) Jackson. He married the former Jan Sadler Nov. 18, 1995. She survives. He retired after 30 years of service with the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He had been employed as a driver for the Northwest Tennessee Transit Authority.
He served in Germany during the Vietnam War and was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Troy and an avid Nascar fan.
He is also survived by two daughters and the spouse of one, Deana (Jackson) Foster and Shane Turner of Rives and April (Jackson) West of Troy; two stepchildren and their spouses, Jana and Brad Keightley of Union City and Brent and Kristina Wilson of South Fulton; two brothers, Robert Wayne Jackson of Denver and Donald Lynn Jackson of Mason Hall; five grandchildren, Jordan West of Troy, Jackson Foster of Rives, Christian Keightley of Union City and Addysen Wilson and Park Wilson, both of South Fulton.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Needham and Gwin Nelson; and his brother, Billy Joe Jackson.
