The Obion County Budget Committee will meet 9 a.m. Monday in the basement conference room of the Obion County Courthouse in Union City.
Items on the agenda include:
• approval of minutes from the March 5 and March 19 meetings;
• Duane Lyon speaking in the open forum;
• a report concerning county litigation taxes;
• a report concerning the recently approved landfill agreements;
• a resolution to amend the interdepartmental agreement previously approved between Obion County and the Obion County Board of Education for construction of the vocational training facilities at Obion County Central and South Fulton high schools;
• a presentation concerning the release of taxes;
• a resolution to amend the Central Cafeteria Fund ($100,000);
• reports from the Insurance Committee, the Finance Committee and the Revenue Research Committee;
• a request that state Rep. Andy Holt be placed on the agenda for the May term;
• a request by the Obion County Election Commission for approval of line item transfers in the fiscal year 2011-12 budget;
• a resolution to amend the county general fund ($24,100);
• a resolution to authorize an application for a litter and trash collecting grant;
• a resolution to adopt a continuing budget and tax rate for FY beginning July 1, 2012, until the budget is adopted;
• information about the county’s employer contribution rate for the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System;
• a financial report from the Indigent Care Trust Fund;
• the appointment of the Adult-Oriented Establishment Board (now serving, Cloney Taylor, Terry Roberts, Union City Mayor Terry Hailey, Kenton Mayor Virginia Davidson and Troy Mayor Jimmie Hart);
• appointments to the Health and Educational Facilities Board (now serving, Steve Vaughn, Mrs. Fowler and Jean Rosier);
• appointment to the Obion County Industrial Development Corporation board (now serving, Danny Jowers);
• appointment to the Obion County Public Library board (now serving, Wayne Bailey);
• appointment to the Obion County Nursing Home board (now serving, Janis Lacewell, Dr. Bobby Williams, Tracey Batey, Earnest Daniels, Timmy Gant, the Rev. Terry Council and Sonny Yarbrough);
• consideration of Notary Public applications;
• request by the assessor of property for approval of a line item transfer in the FY 2012-13 budget;
• other matters brought before the committee.
The meeting is open to the public.
