Nathan Edward “Ed” Butler, 84, of Rives died April 27, 2012, at Union City Manor Nursing Home. 
The Rev. Terry English was to officiate at the 2 p.m. service today at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion. Burial was to follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be Mark Butler Sr., Wayne Butler, Barry Garrison, James Butler, Clifton Harrell and Vernon Harrell.
He was the son of the late Franklin Eugene and Maudie (Woodall) Butler and was a retired farmer and an avid trapper and fisherman. 
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Reynolds of Troy and Gennese Johnson of Union City; two sisters, Anita Clanton of Yorkville and Margie Garrison of Newbern; and four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Lucille Jones and Pauline Welch; and four brothers, Clifford Butler, Gene Butler, Russell Butler and Norvell “Tootsie” Butler.
