The Ned R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center will have its last concert of the season, “Rejoice Dear Hearts, An Evening with Brother Dave Garner,” on Saturday at 7 p.m.
This show opened in Jackson in 2006 and has been touring ever since. Jackson is Brother Dave’s hometown and this show is now touring for a farewell performance of “Rejoice Dear Hearts.”
“Brother Dave is back — with the ‘motorsickle’ whirl of biker boy Chuck and his incredible sideburns. And the deliciously described ‘haints’ in ‘The Haunted House.’ And let’s not forget Dave’s deep fired version of ‘Julius Caesar’ rest in — Rome, Ga.,” a spokesman said.
“That’s right — it’s Brother Dave — one of the biggest comedy stars the South every produced — back with his real life story and best routines. And it’s all wrapped up in the phenomenal hit play, ‘Rejoice Dear Hearts, An Evening with Brother Dave Garner,’ created by and starring another son of the south David Anthony Wright.”
Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. They are available now at Carl Perkins Civic Center or by calling (731) 425-8587.
