Ladies Night returns
to Wynridge club

Ladies’ Night at Wynridge is back.
The weekly Tuesday Night Ladies Scramble at Wynridge Golf Club begins Tuesday with a brief meeting to discuss the 2012 season prior to play starting at 5:45 p.m.
Members pay $10, and non-members pay $15 to compete.

Former Lady Vol
joins Warlick’s staff

KNOXVILLE (AP) — Tennessee coach Holly Warlick has hired Kyra Elzy as her new assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, bringing another former Lady Vols player back to campus.
Warlick announced the hiring Thursday.
Elzy had been an associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Kentucky the past four years. She will fill the job held by Mickie DeMoss before announcing April 2 she was joining the WNBA’s Indiana Fever. Elzy was on Tennessee’s national championship teams in 1997 and 1998.
Warlick says Elzy is a phenomenal recruiter and knows Tennessee’s expectations firsthand.
Elzy was just the fifth freshman in Tennessee history to start her first game, and she was the first player to earn a master’s degree while playing.
She helped care for her grandmother, who had Alzheimer’s, until her death in 2001.

Liberty Bowl stays
on New Year’s Eve

MEMPHIS (AP) — The Liberty Bowl in Memphis is staying on New Year’s Eve, and the 54th annual game will kick off in the afternoon.
The bowl announced details Monday with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff televised by ESPN.
This will be the 13th time the Liberty Bowl has been played on Dec. 31 and the 11th in the last 16 years.
The Liberty Bowl is the seventh oldest bowl game, and the last eight games have been close.
