Jackie Ward (Maloney) Wright Pruitt, 96, of Dothan, Ala., passed away April 25, 2012, at a local hospital. She was a former resident of this area.
Graveside services were set for 1 p.m. today at Pinckard Memorial Cemetery, with Tripp Crane officiating and Robert Byrd directing. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
Mrs. Pruitt was born March 29, 1916, in Lane, daughter of the late Jack and Eula Maloney. She had lived the early part of her life there. She was a homemaker and was also employed with the Obion County Clerk’s office in Tennessee for several years prior to her retirement. She has resided in Dothan for the past 20 years.
Mrs. Pruitt was also preceded in death by her first husband, Asa Wright; her second husband, Hurman Pruitt; her son, Max Wright; her granddaughter, Cherie Dean Allen; two sisters and her brother-in-law, Charlene Maloney and Elisie and Buck Antcliff; and two brothers, Gene Maloney and Jack Maloney Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Norma Allen of Newton, Ala., Mickie Murray of Naples, Fla., and Janice Crane of Jackson; six grandchildren, Donna Hodges, Larry Allen, Tripp Crane, Mike Crane, Jennifer Wilson and Jeff Murray; 10 great-grandchildren, Danielle Renfroe, Cherie Marie Allen, Deanna Hodges, Rachel Crane, Elizabeth Crane, Andrew Crane, Allie Murray, Avery Crane, Cole Murray and Asa Crane; a great-great-granddaughter, Jaden Bence; and her sister Betty Jo Gann of Arizona.
