Scavenger hunt returns

There are 26 of them — clues, that is.
And they’re to be found on The Messenger’s special Scavenger Hunt page, which began appearing in The Messenger this week.
The third annual event focuses on letters of the alphabet this time, and the prizes reflect the importance of those letters being put together in readable fashion: a one-year subscription for first place, a six-month subscription for second place and a three-month subscription for third place.
Entries are due by 4 p.m. May 21 and must be submitted on the original form that is published in The Messenger. Contest rules call for only one entry per person. Carefully completed forms with the correct answers will be placed in a container for a drawing, with winners to be featured in the May 23 edition of The Messenger.
Organizers of the contest warn that, while some letters will be easy to spot at locations up and down First Street from Lee Street to the railroad tracks and along Washington Avenue from the Obion County Courthouse to Kiwanis Park and along Depot Street between Lee and Church streets, others will be more of a challenge, since the clues provided in the paper may show only a portion of the letter.
Some letters may appear upright and others may be inverted or turned sideways.
Participants are to provide the letter and its location on the official form found in The Messenger.

Entries may be mailed to The Messenger, attention, Scavenger Hunt, P.O. Box 430, Union City, TN 38281; or dropped off at the front desk at 613 East Jackson St. Published in The Messenger 4.26.12
