The Soulman can still bring it.
Rocky Johnson’s appearance and NWA Warriors of Wrestling on Saturday night brought in a crowd of about 150 fans to the downtown Union City venue.
After signing autographs, Johnson also helped “The Blues Man” Ike Tucker in his match with “3G” Eric Wayne. After Wayne got a three-count by holding Tucker’s trunks, Johnson came out from the dressing area to point out that fact to the referee, who then restarted the match.
Unhappy with Johnson’s interference, Wayne reached to get at The Soulman but took a pair of hard right hands instead, and Tucker later pinned 3G for the win.
The main event NWA Mid-South Heavyweight title match was declared no contest when the ref was knocked out and Rebecca Raze interfered on “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony’s behalf against “Trendsetter” Jon Michael.
Joseph Bourne got his first win since coming into the NWA by pinning Shawn Reed, The Fabulous Rocker defeated The Tornado and the EMT tag team put down Chic Camron and Ty Blade.
This week, Anthony, with Raze, will take on Michael in a grudge match and The Tornado will try to get his first win against Wayne.
Many other area favorites are on the card.
