| An apparent dispute has resulted in the death of two Palmersville men. According to a press release issued by the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department, 68-year-old Oren Willis of 922 Wesley Chapel Road had stopped at a home in the 7900 block of Palmersville Highway 89 Friday morning requesting someone to call an ambulance after he had been shot. Willis had also admitted to shooting 64-year-old Roy McAlpin of 153 Harrison Road at his lawnmower repair shop on Harrison Road that morning. According to the release, deputies arrived at McAlpin’s shop at 10:19 that morning and found McAlpin dead of a gunshot wound to the chest. Willis was transported by Air Evac Lifeteam to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville that afternoon. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and arm. Willis died Saturday at the Nashville hospital. The incident remains under investigation, but according to the release, the pair had been involved in a business partnership at one time to rebuild and sell garden tillers. Investigators said they believe an argument about the business venture led to the shooting. Funeral services for McAlpin were held Monday at Bowlin Funeral Home. Services for Willis were unknown at press time. WCP 4.24.12 | | | |
