One driver was possibly injured Monday morning when her vehicle collided with a Union City Electric System truck.
Crystal Edgar, 26, of 927 South Home St., Union City, complained of head and neck pain following a crash that occurred about 8:10 a.m. at South Home and East Jackson streets in Union City, according to a Union City Police Department report.
She apparently was transported to the local hospital by private vehicle.
Police reported James Patrick Hogan Jr., 40, of 1066 Wildwood Cove, Union City, was southbound on South Home Street in a 2008 Ford F550 owned by the Union City Electric System and was attempting to turn right into a private drive in the 1100 block of South Home Street. He told police that because he was driving a large utility truck, he had to make a wide turn. He said he did swing out into the turn lane prior to making his turn.
Ms. Edgar told police she was following behind the electric system truck. She said when the truck got into the turn lane, she attempted to go by on the right side, but the electric system truck turned into her 2006 Chevrolet, causing a collision.
A witness told police the electric system truck got into the turn lane and did not use a turn signal to indicate he was wanting to turn right.
Hogan was issued a citation for improper turn and Ms. Edgar was charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license and no insurance, according to the report.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police reported.
