Jane Russell Posted: Monday, April 23, 2012 5:27 pm The Messenger, April 23, 2012 Completed arrangements are being announced for Jane (Barnes) Russell, 79, of the Crystal community, who died April 20, 2012, at Union City Manor Nursing Home. Services were 3 p.m. Sunday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chip Davis officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery near Union City. Pallbearers were James Festervand, Chad Jimerson, Jerry Calhoun, Roger Williams, David Williams, David Russell, Randy Roney, Tommy Jimerson and Dickie McGee. Honorary pallbearers were members of Lake Road Baptist Church, Wilma Ray, Jimmy Barnes, Jesse Jones, Robert McCullough, Bobby Norris Gerald Wood, Ronnie Wood, Willie D. McDonald, Rubel Barnes, James Coln and Elmer Davis. The family requests that memorials be made to Lake Road Baptist Church or Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope. She was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Corinth, Miss., daughter of the late Jesse Leander and Viola (Hancock) Barnes. She married Charles E. Russell Aug. 28, 1948. He died Jan. 30, 2004. She had worked for Baptist Memorial Hospital until she retired and she was then employed at Williams Sausage. She baked many birthday and wedding cakes. She was a member of Lake Road Baptist Church and had done volunteer work at the Obion County Nursing Home. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Cindy Russell, Roger Russell and Patsy Gibson, all of Union City, and Phillip and Jill Russell of Troy; her sister, Lottye Short of Conway, Ark.; her special niece and nephew, Jerry and Karen Calhoun of Union City; five grandchildren, Nicki Festervand of Murfreesboro, Amanda Jimerson of Union City, Lindsey Pullen of Jackson, Justin Russell of Union City and Kimberly Russell of Troy; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Festervand and James Ryan Festervand, both of Murfreesboro, and Isabella Jimerson and Zack Thomas Jimerson, both of Union City. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Franklin Russell; two grandchildren, Cody Russell and Kyla Russell; seven sisters; and two brothers.
