Smith added to Indiana staff

The U.S. Army’s Fairview Heights Company and Mount Vernon Recruiting Station, 101 North Davidson Ave. in Mount Vernon, recently added a staff member.
Sgt. Dustin Wayne Smith comes to the Indianapolis Recruiting Battalion from Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and the 27th Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, 2nd Stryker Brigade 25th Infantry Division where he had been serving since 2007 as a team leader. While assigned to Schofield Barracks, Smith deployed to Camp Taji and Camp Speicher, Iraq.
Smith’s military awards include three Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, one Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon, three Overseas Service Ribbons, the Army Service Ribbon, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Driver & Mechanic Badge, the Expert Badge, and the Marksman Badge.
A native of Union City, Smith graduated from Obion County Central High School in 2006. He is married to the former Caycie Leigh Trull and they have one daughter, Anetta Dale Swift.
