Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope co-chairman Lorraine Beachum is encouraging everyone to participate in this year’s event.
She has organized “Share the Hope Day” to encourage businesses to give to the annual event which supports the Obion County Cancer Agency.
“We know that not every business in Obion County is large enough to have a team and we wanted a way for them to feel like they’re part of this annual event to support their friends and neighbors who have cancer,” Mrs. Beachum said.
Businesses across Obion County are being asked to share a portion of their proceeds on May 11.
“The businesses decide the percentage of their proceeds that they will donate,” she said, adding those who contact her will be provided with a sign showing their support for Hometown Walk of Hope Share the Hope Day.
She said businesses may also choose to give a lump sum donation.
Mrs. Beachum is hoping to get support from all communities across Obion County for this event.
The names of participating businesses will be included in newspaper advertisements leading up to Share the Hope Day.
The Obion County Cancer Agency supports cancer patients in Obion County providing funding for such things as medications, insurance and gasoline to get to their doctors appointments.
