The Messenger, April 19, 2012 Revival planned
A three-night revival is continuing this evening at 7 at Church of Jesus for All, located at 817 East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Union City.
The Rev. Edward Perry, pastor of Jabbok Refuge Center in Savannah and Milan, will join the church family, along with members of his congregation.
The community is invited to attend this evening and Friday.
The Rev. Harry Hayes is pastor. Revival continuing
Shady Grove United Methodist Church, located at 5134 Virgin Road of Shady Grove Road northeast of Union City, will continue its series of Sunday revival events this week at 6 p.m. Sherry Daugherty of Union City First United Methodist Church, a certified lay speaker, will be the evangelist.
There will be a time of fellowship following the service.
The Rev. Jim Calhoun and the congregation invited the community to attend. To host homecoming
Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be celebrating homecoming Sunday, with worship at 10 a.m. There will be a music program with Southern gospel group Living Truth at 11 and a barbecue lunch will be served at noon. Members are reminded to bring side dishes to complete the meal.

The People Place Assembly of God, located at 728 Broadway in South Fulton, will host a benefit singing Saturday at 6 p.m. at the church. The Borders Family of Union City will be the guest musicians, along with local talent from the congregation.
A love offering will be accepted during the service to go to the Rev. Keith Tyler and his family. Last year, the pastor was diagnosed with an illness which left him with temporary memory loss. Because he was unable to work during that time, many expenses accumulated for the family.

Living Truth will appear in concert Saturday at 7 p.m. at Samburg Assembly of God. The Rev. George Hutcheson and the congregation invite the community to attend. Benefit ride set
The Fourth Annual Tanya Taylor Family Memorial Benefit Ride is planned for May 6, with registration and lunch from 12:15-1:30 p.m. and kick stands up at 1:30 at Dyer First Baptist Church.
Barbecue sandwiches will be available for lunch and participants will receive a sandwich and a T-shirt with their $20 registration fee.
Door prizes will be awarded after the ride.

The benefit was established by Ronnie and Selene Barron, who lost their daughter, Tanya Taylor; their son-in-law, Brad Taylor; and their grandsons, Tyce Taylor and Kyle Taylor, when a tornado struck the area April 2, 2006.
Funds raised will help pay expenses for an 18-member team to serve in Quito, Ecuador, bringing medical supplies, children’s Vacation Bible School materials, supplies for a children’s hospital there, free Bibles and free eye-glasses, plus other items.

New Hope Free Will Baptist Church will welcome Maxine Reaves, a member of the church and the wife of deacon Greg Reaves, as speaker Sunday for the congregation’s annual Women’s Day program at 11 a.m.

A Women’s Conference is planned for Saturday, beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. and ending with lunch at noon, at Reelfoot Baptist Church near Union City.
Linda DeBoard of Martin and Deadra Fitts of Union City will be the speakers.
Women in the area are invited to attend. Church welcomes pastor
Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church is welcoming the congregation’s new pastor, the Rev. Drew Hayes from Bowling Green, Ky. He has been senior pastor at Mt. Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church there.
He will speak on “Breaking Bread,” based on Luke 24:13-35 Sunday at the service. The church is located on the corner of Home and Church streets and services are broadcast on WOBT-TV.
A nursery is available for services.
The congregation meets for prayer at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays, with Sunday school at 10, Holy Grounds coffee fellowship at 10:40 and worship at 11.
