Westview struggles against UC

Westview did not have much luck against Union City.
Twice.
The Charger tennis teams suffered losses to the Golden Tornadoes Thursday and followed with a loss in girls’ and tie in boys’ on Monday. UC’s girls posted a 7-0 win on Thursday in UC and a win by that same score Monday at the UT Marton courts. The Twister boys won 5-1 Thursday, while Monday ended in a 3-3 tie.
Conner Blanchard and Harrison Capps teamed up for Westview’s only win Thursday, defeating Peyton Cox and Alex Pegram 8-2 in the No. 2 doubles spot.
Capps and Pegram locked up in a marathon battle at the fourth singles seed, the UC player coming out with a 9-8 win.
Blanchard dropped an 8-5 decision to Devin King at No. 3, while Melissa Darroch and Ethan Plunk fell 8-4 at the No. 1 girls’ seed and No. 2 boys’ spot, respectively.
The Charger boys were better against Union City Monday with three wins.
Plunk took a 9-7 verdict over Cox at the second spot, and Blanchard topped King 8-4 at No. 3.
Blanchard and Capps claimed a 9-7 win at the No. 2 doubles spot.
