| Union City’s girls were too much for Westview.
Again.
Playing the Lady Chargers for the second time in less than a week, UC posted another 7-0 win in prep tennis action.
Union City’s boys, meanwhile, claimed a slim 4-3 victory.
The Obion Central girls were also in action, barely tested in a 4-0 win over Gibson County.
At Martin, the Lady Twisters breezed through their match, winning four times by 8-1 scores.
Jenna Miller and Tara Elam each won by that tally in singles, and both UC doubles entrants — Elam and Anna Moore, Miller and Maddie King — topped their Lady Charger foes 8-1.
Moore notched an 8-0 shutout at the No. 2 singles, spot. King win 8-4 at No. 1, and Ellen Bearden was an 8-2 winner at the fifth singles spot.
Jacob Triplett, Alex Pegram and Ellis Critchlow were all winners in singles play for the Tornado boys, while Triplett and King teamed up for a shutout win at the top doubles spot.
Obion Central claimed a pair of 8-0 wins and two 8-1 decisions in a quick and easy afternoon against Gibson County.
Lindsay Castellaw and Shelly Pate took the shutout wins at the second and third seeds. Marissa Howard and Taylor Moore completed the sweep with 8-1 wins.
Today, Union City travels to Dyersburg while Obion Central visits Trenton.
