Lorene Keen Posted: Wednesday, April 18, 2012 2:49 pm The Messenger, April 18, 2012 Lorene (Wilson) Keen, 99, of Union City died at the home of her daughter, Fay Bryant of Union City, at 4:30 p.m. April 17, 2012. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Obion County Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Cecil Sewell officiating, assisted by the Rev. Eddie Mallonee. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time to go to the cemetery Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Damon Bryant, John Palmer, Thomas Bryant, Ben Bryant, Lawrence Palmer and J.P. Prather. The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. She was born Nov. 23, 1912, in Obion County, daughter of the late Reid and Jessie (McAdoo) Wilson. She married Ben Williams Oct. 28, 1928. He died Nov. 3, 1962. She then married Herman Keen, who died Sept. 2, 1997. She had been employed at the former Brown Shoe Co. in Union City for about eight years and then worked for the former Edwards Shoe Store in Union City. She was a member of Union City First Baptist Church and the 39ers Club there and had been a member of the congregation’s former Esther Joy Sunday School Class. She enjoyed baking pies for family and friends. She is survived by two daughters and her son-in-law, Leone Nevers and Fay and Dale Bryant, all of Union City; two grandchildren, Damon Bryant of Union City and Glenda Palmer of Nolensville; three great-grandsons, Lawrence Palmer of Nashville and Thomas Bryant and Ben Bryant, both of Union City; and four great-great-grandchildren, Darryn Bryant, Johnathan Bryant, Audrey Bryant and Mallory Bryant, all of Union City. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Loyce Wilson, Reese Wilson and Raymond Wilson; her sister, Margaret Muse; her granddaughter, Stephanie Elizabeth “Beth” Nevers; and her grandson, Jonathan Alden Nevers.
