Gospel concert slated

The University of Tennessee at Martin’s collegiate gospel choir will present a concert at 7 p.m. April 25 at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Martin.
The choir will present “He’s a Keepa” and “We Offer Praise” by Rodnie Bryant; “Jesus Be a Fence” by Fred Hammond; and “Friend of God” by Israel Houghton. Audience members will also hear Walter Hawkins’ works “When the Battle is Over” and “Jesus Christ is the Way.”
Harold Johnson, a senior music education major, will accompany the choir on keyboard, and Joshua Brewster, a sophomore pre-physical therapy major, will be featured on the drums.
The choir is under the direction of Alvin Summers, choir director, and Mykia Campbell, assistant director.
The concert is free and open to the public. Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church is located at 120 South St. in Martin.
