Robert K. “Bob” Yates, 74, of Hornbeak died April 15, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with Kevin Thomason officiating and burial following in Hornbeak City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of services. Pallbearers will be Butch Darnall, John Darnall, Jerry Dan Darnall, Jerry Moore, Randall Moore, Andy Page, Travis Alexander and Bart Orr. He was born in Kenton Sept. 2, 1937, son of the late Levi Glen and Eudora Kathryn (Albright) Yates. He had most recently been employed by the highway beautification detail of the Obion County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of Hornbeak Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Darnall) Yates; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ken Yates, Tom and Teresa Yates and Glen and Michelle Yates, all of Hornbeak; seven grandchildren, Rick Yates and Robert Kenneth Yates III, both of Troy, Mandy Parker of Union City, Rush Yates of Nashville, Autumn Yates of Knoxville and Hannah Yates and Chandler Yates, both of Hornbeak; and three great-grandchildren, Keaton Yates and Karter Yates, both of Troy, and Nathan Parker of Union City.
