Graveside services for Gertie W. Sanders, 96, of Union City, formerly of Decatur, were held April 10, 2012, at Decatur City Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Formby officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Sanders, who died April 5, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Union City, was born Feb. 24, 1916, in Birmingham, Ala., daughter of the late Lawson Allen and Lillie (Morrison) Wilson. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Decatur.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat (Sanders) Aldridge of Union City; two grandsons, Brian Aldridge and Jason Aldridge, both of Union City; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oval Sanders; and two brothers, Allen Wilson and Paul Wilson.
