Marissa Howard and Lindsay Castellaw gave the Obion Central girls a big advantage.
The Lady Rebel twosome won each of their singles matches and then teamed for a doubles win for three of OC’s four wins in a 4-2 decision over Westview at the UT Martin tennis complex on Tuesday afternoon.
Central’s boys picked up just one win in a 5-1 loss.
Obion Central will be bck in action on Thursday, hosting Crockett County.
Howard defeated Laura Ferrer 8-3 at No. 1, and Castellaw topped Natalie Hurst 8-4 at No. 2 in singles play, Central and Westview splitting four matches overall.
Howard and Castellaw then joined forces for an 8-3 win over Madison Williams and Jessica Evans at the top doubles seed.
Obion Central clinched the team win in the No. 2 doubles match as Rebecca Bloodworth and Taylor Moore bounced back from losses in singles play for an 8-2 triumph over Annabelle Cormia and Chelsea Thweatt.
Austin Riley notched the only win for Central’s boys, beating Ethan Plunk 8-5 at the No. 2 singles spot.
Riley and Dallas Mathis came up just short in No. 1 doubles, falling 8-5 to Plunk and Gian Garma.
