Bobby Allen Mayse, 73, of Troy died 11:05 a.m. April 11, 2012, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jerry Leggett and Eddie Mallonee officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Merlin Lyell, Robbie Forrester, David Mayse, Ronnie Roney, Melvin Hollingsworth and O’Neil Baker.
He was born Jan. 10, 1939, in Obion County, son of the late Elva (James) Mayse of Union City and the late Lester Mayse. He had been employed by the Obion County Board of Education in the maintenance department, most recently at Hillcrest School in Troy, prior to his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam conflict and he attended Union City Second Baptist Church.
He is also survived by his son, Michael Mayse of Troy; three grandchildren, Kaycee Mayse, Makayla Mayse and Michael Mayse, all of Troy; two sisters, Betty Orr of Troy and Norma Cherry of Memphis; and three brothers, James Mayse of Dresden, Buryl Mayse of Memphis and Glenn Mayse of Martin.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Allen Mayse.
