Hub’s Restaurant, located at 1705 Seventh St. in Hickman, Ky., will host a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society’s Fulton, South Fulton and Hickman Relay for Life Team known as “Friends for a Cure” Monday from 5-9 p.m.
The dining-in, select menu meal will be served by team members, with all tips going to help cure and bring awareness to cancer.
Hickman’s own country western singer Jay Black will provide music for the evening.
While the restaurant is usually closed on Mondays, Hub’s will only be open this one Monday night for the special fund raiser. The community is encouraged to support this effort.
Says team leader Susan Major of Hickman, “With so much brokenness and pain in the lives of the people around us who are affected by cancer, their needs often go unnoticed as they walk through the trials of this disease. We want to reach out to them and draw them closer in faith, family and friendship.”
Members of the team will also take part in the June 1 Relay for Life walk at Pontotoc Park in Fulton, beginning at 6 p.m.
