Free self-defense program offered through UT Martin

A free course in women’s self-defense and rape aggression defense (RAD) is available through the University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Extended Campus and Online Studies.
The course will be held from 4-10 p.m. April 23-24 on the main UT Martin campus.
Terry Guthrie, certified instructor in RAD basic physical defense, will instruct the course, focusing on education and awareness.
The course includes lecture, discussion and self-defense techniques and is suitable for women of all ages and abilities. Participants are required to attend both days of instruction and will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
The course is open to the general public, including UT Martin students, faculty and staff. Only women are eligible to participate.
The class will also be offered May 21-22.
