Union City police are investigating a report of extensive vandalism to a rental house.
Police responded about 9:45 a.m. Monday to 1313 East College St. in Union City, where Ralph Adams reported someone had entered the property and vandalized the entire inside of the house sometime within the last couple of weeks, according to a Union City Police Department report.
The damage was discovered Monday morning by Adams’ employees.
Police reported the contents of cabinets were taken out and strewn all over the kitchen walls and floors and through the living room; the front glass on the oven was broken out and the refrigerator removed from the property; the sink and toilet in the bathroom had been stopped up and the water left running, with the entire back of the house being water soaked; most of the walls had holes in them or the Sheetrock™ had been ripped from the wall studs; property left by the last tenants was lying all over the house; and two televisions in a bedroom were destroyed.
It was reported that a sliding door was unsecure when the employees arrived.
Adams estimated the damage at over $5,000, according to the report.
